I voted by absentee ballot two weeks ago. Tuesday was election day here in California. There was quite a bit on the ballot. I didn’t even know that our Governor was running for re-election until I opened my sample ballot.
Do the constituents 40 years of age and younger view voting as an important and necessary process? I surely hope so.
The local elections are so extremely important. I often hear that many of our local elected officials here in South Los Angeles do not care about the neighborhoods they represent. Well, why did we vote for the non-caring politician? Were we sold on a facade?
We as constituents, have to be engaged. We have to seek out the information needed to make informed decisions.
Remember, a huge poster with a candidates name is not a good enough reason to give them your vote.
